Hi Fashionistas!

How are you doing? Are you sewing much over the summer of taking a break? I made a few things but have not had a chance to blog about them yet. I’ll be sharing them over the next couple of months.

I made this shift dress and documented a tutorial on how to draft an all in one facing, something I will be sharing on the blog soon.

Here are a couple other garments I made: denim shorts, this fabric is from Joanns.

Tent dress, scuba knit from Fabric mart

I wanted to drop in and say Hi! because I miss you! Let me know what you are working on over the summer. Did you hear that Craftsy is moving to a subscription model in 2018? Any thoughts on that? I know many of us take classes on that platform.. wondering what your thoughts are?

Talk soon!

  1. I don’t understand Craftsy moving to a different service. The contract was unlimited use of the classes.
Love those shorts. Did you draft the pattern? You look so good in everything.

  2. By subscription, would they mean access to a specific number of classes provided you pay a fee every month? Like 3 classes every month for $10 monthly subscription fee? And pay full price for every class in excess? Sounds good to me.

    • Or they might go to a “access all classes for xyz a month”.. although I like your model better if that ends up being more cost effective to us. Who knows, they may offer membership tiers, to appeal to a wider audience.

  3. Love your dresses! I have made a few tops this summer. Hope to sew this weekend – suppose to be rainy here in NJ. I would like to get a maxi dress made and a few tops that will transition into fall nicely made up by mid August.
